Company: Digital Markets, Digital peninsula Network, Penzance, Cornwall What they wanted to achieve:The DPN wanted to create a showcase website for Digital Marketing in Cornwall, and in only 2 weeks! The site had to demonstrate the medium in all its glory, whilst attracting people to apply for the new funding stream. What we did: The challenge was to balance demonstrating the medium whilst drawing attention to the content, but ultimately it was the content that would actually determine the success of the project, by encouraging people to apply for funding. Our solution was to develop a strong design that was able to draw the user into the medium at the start and then lead them into content through the clever use of font styles, weights and positioning. We used combinations of streaming video and flash animations to bring the site to life, together with interactive user features. Behind the website was a simple content management database to allow novice users to keep the site current and relevant. It was quite a challenge, and certainly mold-breaking, but the end result has more than compensated for the mid-night oil burnt. How we did it: This was a rapid development of only 2 weeks from concept to delivery to meet the launch deadlines, demanding a real team aproach..We worked closely with all the Digital Markets team, and with fast track design and content approvals, and some partnership working with some specialist companies, we were able to deliver an outstanding site showcasing digital motion marketing on time and within budget. How they maintain it: Customer own maintenance utilising a bespoke database management system. What they think of it: "It's great. We had such a small amount of time that many potential suppliers wouldn't even quote. Tim and Jake more than rose to the challenge and we now have a really cool and effective site. They even trained us on the customer maintenance prior to the launch. I can honestly say it has been one of the smoothest web developments i have ever been involved in."
